Tornado and Sturgis trip 2008

2008 we were bringing in two bikes to Sturgis for the Michael Lichter "Stay Gold" exhibit. less than an hour into our trip we drove into a tornado..100 mile hour plus straight line winds flipped us over before we even knew what hit us. Luckily no one was hurt, the bikes suffered minor damage. Mario Sanchez was on his bagger in front of us and was picked up by the wind but luckily went into the deep ditch between the north and south freeway lanes where he was able to hunker down and hide from the turmoil going on up above! After a few phone calls and a 7 hour delay we had the bikes in a new rig and made it to Sturgis around 2 am, unloaded the bikes to the waiting help and were all good for the shows opening that morning!
