Welding Knuck tranmission cases part 4

Continuing from part 3 above now that the case has been machined down and the holes have been located and center punched, we need to be sure that we drill the holes perfectly straight. To do this We use our surface plate a angle plate and our height gauge. I get the case clamped to the angle plate and squared up so the transmission case is square with the plate.

Here you can see the height gauge set up with my dial indicator to be sure I am level all the way across the gasket surface.

Now to me the kids in my chopper class are learning stuff that most never will, I am excited to keep on progressing in my skills to pass them on to the students in class.
